Thomas Duran
Violoncelle
Thomas Duran is an eclectic, curious musician. He embarks on multiple, varied projects, performing with the Ensemble Intercontemporain, the Alternance and Court-Circuit Ensembles but also on a period instrument with the Bordeaux Baroque Ensemble, the Chambre Philharmonique… In 2013, he participated in the recording of the complete Popper études, along¬side 19 other prestigious cellists.
After having been first-chair cellist with the ONBA, he joined the Orchestre de Paris in 2009.
In 2011 he was appointed Professor of Cello at the Regional Conservatory (CRR) of Paris.
Thanks to backing from the instrument maker Pierre Barthel, Thomas Duran on this record plays a cello by Bergonzi.
