Rolande Falcinelli
Rolande Falcinelli (1920-2006) is a major figure within 20th-century music, a treasure of diverse features that we are just beginning to come to appreciate adequately today. An organist and composer, she also enjoyed a noteworthy career as a teacher, recitalist and improviser. These concert improvisations follow upon a historical recording of Rolande Falcinelli from the Belley sessions (Hortus 038), and Azãn, an album devoted to the composer, performed by Philippe Brandeis at the cathedral of Les Invalides (Paris) and Elise Battais, flute (Hortus 059).
