Bach : L'Art de la Fugue à Saint-Benoît-sur-Loire
Two architectures were eventually bound to come together. One, made of stones and mortar, lending rhythm to light, is the basilica of Fleury Abbey (Saint-Benoît-sur-Loire). The other, crafted in sounds and silences, lends rhythm to time: this is The Art of the Fugue by J. S. Bach. These two masterworks, in their balance, perfection, proportion, bear witness to the excellence of an authentically Medieval knowhow, bringing to bear the same numerical, symbolic and aesthetic immanences.
