Alexandre Guilmant
The soft yet penetrating sound of the harmonium
de salon, the expressive sensitivity of
the more “established” timbre of the church
organ, the various folk melodies and the great
formal and stylistic diversity of the common
European heritage from which the composer
drew his inspiration, are all evocative of the
society in which Guilmant’s Noëls originated.
Kurt Lueders, harmonium

François Lambret, piano
