Heir to the great French clarinet tradition, Florent Héau, a Paris CSNMD graduate, has an impressive curriculum:
1991: First Prize – Toulon International Competition; Laureate of the Natexis- Banque Populaire Foundation; 1994: First Prize (with pianist Patrick Zygmanowski) – Paris International Chamber Music Competition;
1995: First Prize - FNAPEC international Ensemble Music Competition A brilliant soloist whose inspired playing never sacrifices musicality to sheer virtuosity, Florent Héau plays with renowned chamber musicians: Marielle Nordmann, Gérard Caussé, Bruno Rigutto, Roland Pidoux, Régis Pasquier, Patrice Fontanarosa… and ensembles: Quatuor Parisii, Quatuor Prazak, Quatuor Ysaye, Quatuor Manfred, Ensemble Orchestral de Paris… In 1997, he created Thierry Escaich’s Chant des Ténèbres.
