Benoît Toïgo

Flûte à bec

Following a full course of study with Pirre Boragno, Benoît Toïgo received a National Advanced Musical Studies Diploma with highest honours at the National Conservatory in Lyon in the class of Pierre Hamon, then went on to postgraduate training with Kees Boeke in Trossingen. He was a finalist in the Bruges International Competition for solo instruments in 2005. He is presently Professor at the Conservatory in Dieppe and gives lectures and master classes.
His career has been characterized by eclecticism. He has taken part in productions with William Christie, J. C. Frisch, Skip Sempé and Gérard Lesne. Contemporary creation in many forms (premieres, musical theatre, contemporary dance works, improvisation with tape, etc.) occupy a significant position in his work, as do specialized chamber ensembles: Les Lunes du Cousin Jacques (baroque repertory), La Dolce Sere and Alla Francesca (medieval music).
