Marc Mauillon

Baryton

Although diversity is the keyword in a career which has led Marc Mauillon to take on numerous repertoires, he has proved to be particularly attached to early music genres, as witnessed by his work on the music of Machaut, his regular collaboration with Jordi Savall (Jérusalem, L’Épopée Cathare, Ludi Musici, Mare Nostrum…) and with ensembles such as Doulce Mémoire (Les Roses d'Ispahan, Le Requiem des Rois de France…), and of course the significance of the Baroque repertoire for his artistic development. Thus, since Le Jardin des Voix in 2002, he has regularly joined with William Christie, as in the Le Grand Office des Morts / Te Deum for Virgin Classics, Armide by Lully at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, The Spirit in Dido and Æneas notably in Vienna and Paris, or the revival of the mythical produc¬tion of Atys in which he was Idas at the Opéra-Comique, in Caen, Bordeaux and New York; with Le Poème Harmonique he recorded and gave concert performances of Monteverdi’s Combattimento, was Cadmus in Cadmus et Hermione and held the title role in Egisto; with Le Concert Spirituel he is one of the slapstick monks in the King Arthur production by Shirley et Dino. And 2012 witnessed his debut at the Paris Opéra in the role of Tisiphone (Hippolyte et Aricie by Rameau).
